Message From your cas CoordinatorsAt West Island School, we believe that in order to prepare for adult life, young people must be encouraged to discover and embrace the similarities and differences between cultures and nationalities in ways that promote meaningful and lasting understanding, tolerance and respect; developing intercultural learning and encouraging international mindedness.
Linked to West Island School’s vision, for every student to be the best they can be, our CAS program does not solely focus on what is taught, but rather how learning takes place. It recognises that learning is most effective when it is practical, cross-cultural and collaborative, and when it is infused through a broad spectrum of inter, extra and co-curricula activities. We care passionately about what happens in the future to our world and to the fascinating variety of cultures and communities it supports. We want these communities to thrive and prosper and care about each other In mutual cooperation. Depending on the pathway you choose, your CAS requirements will vary. To be the best they can be, we hope that every student immerses themselves in the learning process both within and beyond the classroom here at West Island School and enjoys every CAS experience on their educational journey through West Island School. For regular CAS updates and opportunities, please join the Google Classroom using the code 7asxc6a. http://web.wis.edu.hk/public_html/IB-CAS-2017-&-beyond.pdf Important: Please Note: A student who fails to satisfy the CAS requirement will not be awarded the IB diploma even if all other diploma conditions have been satisfactorily fulfilled.
